Dressed in the green of leaves that have yet to wither, we look back on the past and become lost in the reverie, filled with gratitude for the gifts in our lives. In the final lines of her poem The Summer Day, Mary Oliver asks of us, “Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon? Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
